About This Coffee
This washed Ethiopian lot comes from the renowned Nano Chala Washing Station, nestled in the highlands of Geera. With cool climate and high elevation, this region is known for producing elegant, floral-driven coffees. The cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness and processed with meticulous care—from flotation and pulping, to soaking and shade drying on raised beds.
The result is a beautifully clean, vibrant cup with delicate florals, sweet citrus, and a silky texture that showcases the best of Ethiopian terroir.
Producer Information
Nano Chala was established nine years ago by the Kata Muduga Union, and has since grown into a vital hub for over 819 smallholder farmers. The station now operates three processing sites, handling over 2.7 million kg of red cherries annually with plans to expand further.
With a core focus on sustainability, the station invests in waste management systems, reforestation, education, and infrastructure projects—uplifting both the land and the local communities. Coffee traceability and environmental standards are maintained through meticulous documentation and innovative water recycling systems.
